Post-Pisces Full Moon 2017

Many things that have been blurring my vision of late became clear the past few weeks and days… like how easy it is to get in our own way, to let our own concepts about how things should be, our hopes about how things will be, our identification with who we think we are and what we want and need, to become the self-imposed limitations that bind us to suffering.

The Buddhists teach it so well, the art of non-attachment ~ to accept things as they are, to wait and see, to find a way to shift our perspective to one of equanimity, wherein we see the value of what is, rather than dwelling upon all the things we don’t have.

Life is so busy and often monotonous in its relentless repetition of routine requirements, the demands of daily life (food, sleep, order, function) can feel stifling, showing no mercy.

So much of the time I find myself caught up in tasks, one to the next, managing small children, wrangling them in and out of the car, diplomatically adjudicating endless disputes, manipulating ways to make things happen with minimum fuss, while struggling to get all The Things done each day.

This experience has drained me lately, it seemed that my faith had abandoned me, I felt forsaken by the Universe for weeks. Now there are glimmers of light and I recognise that my own ego’s ideas about What I Need are meaningless. In the interests of sanity+satisfaction my expectations must be released rather than tenaciously clung to as a part of my very being.

Just because I don’t understand, or can’t see what is really happening, it doesn’t mean that nothing is happening, or that it is wrong, or that I’ve made a mistake, or that I’m being punished…

Like Pythagoras’ own theorem:

“the square of the hypotenuse (the side opposite the right angle) is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides”

which is a very prosaic way of saying that it is not what we see but what we do not see that is the interesting bit.

The mystery of life swirls around us. Many (politicians, powers that be, consensus majority et al) choose to perceive things in a way that supports their own (old-paradigm) materialistic views. Their passé perspective that life is a series of transactions measured with ones and zeros, with value estimated in dollars and cents…? I think, despite their self-assured demeanours and loud mouths, they are more lost than any one of us who is able to humbly bow in reverence, recognising the futility in attempts to control, admitting we have no idea what is happening. Those who see the strength and wisdom in surrender, AKA The Meek, may indeed inherit the earth.

For now, the gods must laugh at our antics, lest they cry at what we seem hell-bent upon bringing to bear… despite, nay because of the gifts we’ve had bestowed upon us ~ consciousness & free will

this very breath at this very moment

Our apparent collective ineptitude provides all the fuel for humility we could ever need. The search for the Holy Grail, the meaning of life, eludes us despite all technological advances, CCTV at every junction, 24 news channels…

Religion disappoints us, preaching rubbish rules and regs to which we must subscribe in order that we get a chance to sit atop a sun-drenched cloud by Jesus’ side someday, or brainwashing the beautifully supple young minds with poisonous seeds of hatred and violence. They want us infidels punished, in the hopes they might get to cavort with virgins for eternity on The Other Side.

Truly, we must concede the whole mess is a mystery

Franciscan Friar Richard Rohr writes “mystery isn’t something you cannot understand – it is something that you can understand endlessly!”

We never get it completely. There is an ever deepening spiral of evolution taking place within us (and so without). The more we participate with this, surrendering as required and engaging when called to do so, the more inspired enthralled and awed we become… we recognise that life is magic and we are fools to fall into any other mindset.

We have a part to play in the unfoldment of this grand cosmic plan. We must only have the courage to abide.

Capricorn Full Moon 2017

July’s Full Moon in the sign of Capricorn (9th July 12.08pm AWST) is closely aligned with Pluto ~ lord of the underworld ~ and the Sun near to Mars in Cancer, both in T-square to King of Excess Jupiter!

A Full Moon such as this, with intense energies jostling for attention and expression, there’s plenty of scare-mongering going on. So, while The World shakes in its boots over fears perpetuated by relentless media coverage of the North Korea Threat, we are wise to aim to remain cool calm collected and to consider that which we are personally responsible for ~ our own lives, relationships, families, homes ~ and act towards betterment here, rather than becoming despondent hopeless angry at the broader picture of The Way Things Are (or appear to be).

The light promises to shine upon our darker places, allowing us to see into our past (hopefully gleaning new insights/perspectives) and to illuminate just what it is we have been building (intentionally or inadvertently) as we go about our daily lives. This may not be wholly warm+fuzzy, but it can be helpful.

Mars’ movement through Cancer has been agitating for our attention to fall upon that which will truly bring a sense of security. There can be so many red herrings as we go through a process of elimination to discern where our home really is, and what it is that we really need in order to feel safe and secure. Money, a steady job, reliable mate, food, shelter, or travel, adventure, passion, stimulation, freedom…?

When we come to the cosmic truth of it, perhaps it goes beyond all of these, to a sense of place that is accessed via surrender ~ nestling within our own vulnerability. A place where, at first, we don’t feel safe but uneasy.

Mars can help us to stay with that feeling, to see what comes next

And what comes next might be clarity of purpose, to recognise what we really want and what is worth fighting for in our lives.

The combination of this Full Moon’s energies can easily manifest as anxiety or emergent frustration and resentment. It is so easy for these emotions to overtake our conscious mind and impose themselves upon others, our nearest and dearest especially, wreaking havoc upon our plans for a pleasant weekend.

Forewarned is forearmed… with awareness we might be able to restrain urges to attack blame scapegoat those around us, and access the deeper message, our deeper needs, and to accept responsibility for meeting these needs without excessive demands and expectations.

I hope you all have meaningful in~sight into the deeper themes that arise over the next few days. These gifts can shift our gaze, reorienting us on our heroic journey, we see how we might contribute to the broader picture, not limited to threats of force and media-fuelled fear campaigns, but committing to the co(s)mic order that prevails, despite appearances

the quest for truth goes on

Sagittarius Full Moon 2017

Tonight’s (Friday 9th of June) Full Moon is sandwiched between retrograde Saturn and Black Moon Lilith in the sign of Sagittarius ~ its truth time. Amid confusion and doubt we face the reality that truth is relative personal grey so we must simply choose our own version, and devote ourselves to it.

Fingers crossed?

As the light shines upon uneasy aspects of Self we might discover a path forward, renewed optimism and restored faith. The energy calls us all to see that our quest demands commitment to individuation, and resistance to old ways that tempt us to remain stuck in self-sabotage and victim consciousness. But too, to be warned against folly and delusion as we make our choices. To remain true to our task.

Opposite the Full Moon in Sagittarius is the Sun in Gemini, on Wednesday joined by Mercury, so I’ve been thinking on communication ~ how we can be so easily misunderstood, how we misrepresent ourselves, how we judge others based on our own misunderstandings ~ and as well, how good conversation seems to be an ailing art form. This passage by infamous provocateur James Hillman taken from his inspiring and lol-worthy work with Michael Ventura: We’ve had 100 years of therapy and the world’s getting worse (1993), describes the phenomenon of conversation so eloquently.

“Conversation isn’t easy… take a dinner party. Strike up a conversation and keep it flowing – not a monologue, not only opinions and sounding off, not only firing questions, but conversation as an exploration, a little risky adventure, a discovery, an interesting happening. Parties, doing lunch, and 7.30am breakfasts are terribly important in keeping the consciousness [of society] at a certain intensity, moving its mind adventurously toward deeper discoveries.

What doesn’t work, we also pretty well know: personalism – just talking our loud about what we feel. Complaints. Opinions. Information doesn’t work… and lullabies don’t help either – singing charming little stories to prevent anything from entering the heart or mind. And boosterism isn’t conversation either – broadcasting, self-advertising what we are doing, have done, going to do. You can’t converse with a sales pitch of positive preaching. All these kinds of talk… interfere with conversation…

Good conversation has an edge. It opens your eyes to something, quickens your ears. And good conversation berates: it keeps on talking in your mind later… That reverberation afterwards is the very raising of consciousness; your mind’s been moved… A conversation turns things around… And to keep turning means that it’s no use having fixed stands, definite positions. That stops conversation dead in its tracks.”

Beyond the cringeworthy zealotry and unsolicited sermons of low-road Sagittarius, past low-road Gemini’s repetitious parroting of previously heard ideas opinions rhetoric and too-oft-told anecdotes there is potential for words spoken and shared to lift us out of old thought forms, to shift us in meaningful ways, to alter our previously held perceptions of how things are

for transformation to occur

Our Moon-shadows will be visible this weekend. The inherent opposition offers perspective; we are challenged to consider our long-held views ~ where do we refuse to budge, and why? Can we allow enough room to really talk to those around us, converse connect conflict ~ make like The Mutables and change our minds?

Finally, lunation ruler Jupiter turns direct on Saturday, preparing for his final months in Libra during which time opportunities arise for us to harmonise relate cooperate with others, and to discover in ourselves what aids our capacity for balance and equilibrium. Evolutionary astrologer Maurice Fernandez spoke about this transit of Jupiter through Libra as a time that may see us doing things we’d have not thought we would ever do. This has been true for me, and I hope for more of it, for you all too 🙂

Scorpio Full Moon 2017

May’s Full Moon in Scorpio (11th May 3.45am AWST) invites us to become more recognisant of death as an imperative transformational phase in the cycle of life ~ though we shy away from its implications (apparent finality, pain, loss, sorrow) there might be more to it than meets the eye

Scorpio and its modern ruler Pluto are often associated with death, not limited to physical death but the many endings+losses we experience as part of life ~ often resisted and struggled against as we fight to retain or regain control…

We can become so caught up in being “right” and in winning battles that we identify as being necessary and righteous, but truly nothing is gained from victories of this kind. It never feels good to “win” by force. And when it comes down to what really matters, does it really matter?

The traditional ruler of Scorpio is Mars ~ an inwardly expressed Mars (via the yin sign of Scorpio) is a force to be reckoned with, and wholly dependent upon our own willingness to work with energy transformation…

Do we choose fear (anger rage resentment frustration aggression)

or courage (assertiveness will confidence independence right action)?

How easy it is to condemn others, to wash our hands of any culpability for the problems we encounter, to point and shake our heads at those people;  that hysterical woman, aloof man, dysfunctional neighbours…

Evil-doers abound, and thus so do chances for us to shirk our responsibilities and scapegoat perpetually…

For as long as we insist upon foisting our own shadows on others, we remain at the mercy of our unconscious power. Blaming instantly transports us to victimhood, a place that renders us impotent+lame frustrated+struggling. But as we confront the uncomfortable truth ~ this mess is our own ~ we recognise that all our experiences contain potential for transformation ~ alchemy ~ lead > gold

We might turn unpleasant experience into something for which we can be truly grateful. We might honour loss with life lived more wholeheartedly

Becoming the butterfly

This change occurs within the space that is grace, and we access it from a point of reverence humility faith

This week, when our defences may be up, our wit is sharp and our tongues are sharper, we do well to look within for ways to resolve our problems. No matter how clever our arguments might seem, or how justified we feel in our rigidity, Scorpio knows that the truth sets us free

and the truth is that we are all made of pure love

and when we let it flow through us, miracles occur. Nothing less.

Libra Full Moon 2017

Another Full Moon is upon us, and the astroscape is intense! King of excess Jupiter (even in reverse-mode!) is keeping the spark alive between Change Gods Pluto and Uranus. Thankfully, retrograde Mercury, Saturn and Venus offer room for reflection ~ let’s hope the (ostensible) powers-that-be will allow themselves this luxury! Amidst these turbulent times, we too find solace in the inner space afforded by various retrogrades and waning cycles…

The Libra Full Moon, exact on Tuesday afternoon (2.08pm AWST) illuminates insights revealed by (Full Moon ruler) Venus’ magical retrograde. We are uncovering true worth, in ourselves, in others, in life and all she provides.

Venus’ new guise as the morning star represents awakening ~ as the truth dawns on us in all its beauty ~ we are reminded that our own self-worth is not dependent upon the approval of others…

I don’t need everybody to like me! I must remain true to my inner muse and honour my own truth by walking my talk, no matter what they say. Let me not be distracted by tall poppy ponderings…

“will they think I’m crazy?”

“who do I think I am?!”

On that note, forgive me a digression… the dream that came to me the night after my first astrology workshop (JupiterReturn-inspired conscious act of individuation) ~ I sit in a dark room beside an old lady who describes herself as the daughter of Carl Jung. She shows me her jewels ~ a pile of rainbow gems trinkets treasures riches ~ and then she departs, promising to return, leaving me poring over the valuables…

We are being asked now to trust in the Piscean mystery of life ~ to accept it as it is and know that, as we act in alignment with truth, we will be guided

and the jewels (our meaningful reward) will be entrusted to us in turn

The cosmos is now calling us to show up more visibly in our own lives. The light of this Moon helps us to see where we sell ourselves short + dumb ourselves down and empowers us to liberate ourselves! Authenticity is key to our sense of self-worth and to our ability to live wholeheartedly. Mars supports us in acting courageously and intentionally.

As Venus turns direct later this week we are also blessed with opportunities to let go of our concepts ideals attachments illusions delusions around love

For as long as we remain stuck in a view of what love should be we cannot know love. But the moment we surrender to the moment, in all its glorious imperfection, and accept our chosen mate in all his/her humanness, we find their true worth

and love appears.

Not only that, but a chance exists now to release ourselves from the self-imposed limitations of expectation

The true worth of things (situations events people) cannot emerge until we relinquish the clouded perspective of what we want them to be, which requires that they be different to how they actually are in reality…

Venus’ current fusion with Chiron helps us to find the value in our vulnerabilities. These “cracks where the light gets in” are indeed our gateway to humility and compassion, and so to genuine connection and intimacy.

Here we find Libra ~ relating to others & relating to life ~ we evolve through the contributions made by others and through our capacity to connect with these contributions meaningfully.

1+1=>2

Virgo Full Moon 2017

Sunday night’s (12th March, 10.55pm AWST) Full Moon in Virgo is a special one! Amid all the challenging energy playing out between Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter, Saturn and the Sun and Moon, Mercury and Chiron invite us to go beyond our assumed limitations…

As the Moon’s energy builds, and we perhaps become more aware of our woundedness, there is the potential for us to default to old ways of thinking and being. We find ourselves in crisis, inwardly lamenting our flaws, vulnerabilities, perceived weaknesses, and believing that we are destined to succumb to our past…

Loss and trauma must be processed authentically ~ felt, honoured, experienced, mourned ~  over time and sometimes periodically. As we evolve and mature, we might reflect on our wounds from different points of view and benefit from new insights, deepening our healing. No one has the right to tell another how to grieve, or that we ought to “get over it” “move on” “toughen up” “lighten up” et al, we must each honour the process of grief in ways that feel personally meaningful.

While Chiron can represent parts of our psyche that defy logical comprehension, and wounds that remain despite our best efforts to “cure” them, we need not feel these aspects of ourselves are necessarily limiting. Mercury is supporting us to transcend the idea that we are bound to old trauma. We are not asked to forget, but to let go of our attachment to who we have been.

Wounds sustained over lifetimes might remain with our soul, colouring our perceptions, causing us to respond in certain ways to certain stimuli, much of which occurs unconsciously ~ we are unaware of our bias. This Full Moon allows us to see more clearly the ways in which this effects us, and encourages us to accept ourselves, warts and all, without allowing ourselves to remain stuck in old thought forms.

We are not who we were. Our old wounds can contribute meaningfully to our individuation, but when we allow our conscious minds to replay our old stories ad infinitum, we are doomed to abide by an old paradigm of thought that keeps us reliving the past.

Though our ego perceives the shedding/letting go of these stories as a sacrifice ~ a threat to its identification ~ it is time to transcend all that! Recognise that denial, rejection, numbing or projection are simply the ego’s attempts to maintain status quo, seeking control and power ~ illusory though these are.

This weekend the cosmos empowers us to release the old, see things anew, welcome the insights that come…

feel the tenderness within (ouch!) and courageously stay with it.

Sagrada Familia ~ emerging from the Barcelona earth

We might even channel our feelings

into conscious expression of our individuation

~ more fully ourselves

than we have ever been before

Leo Full Moon Eclipse

All my life I’ve been surrounded by Leos. I feel I’ve grown up, a crab among a regal pride of lions (like a weird fable from Aesop), and that this has some divine purpose ~ I am learning the language and culture of Leo.

So far I have gathered that high-road Leo energy at its best is sunny and toasty warm, effortlessly confident and truly generous, encouraging and inclusive, fun and theatrical ~ a fine dose of the royal treatment. Less joyful times I’ve been left shell-shocked and retreating, pincers at the ready, trying to escape the neediness, drama, bombast, entitlement, imposition of low-road Leo vibrations.

The energy along this Leonine spectrum is bound to be plentiful and surging this weekend with Saturday’s Full Moon at 22° Leo.

Eclipses can bring challenging times. The energetic flow between the Sun and the Moon is interrupted leaving us Earth-dwellers feeling disoriented and often fragile. The lines between the conscious ego and unconscious emotional body blur, and we are especially vulnerable to our hidden fears and anxieties.

As the fiery energy builds and we feel (perhaps subconsciously) anxious to act, something’s gotta give. We experience difficulties in our relationships as complicated dynamics stir within and, literally before we know it, something from beneath the surface has emerged like a screaming banshee from our unconscious and flown out of our big gobs, leaving us (perpetrators and victims alike) shattered in its wake.

WTF just happened?!

There can be no doubt that this is damaging and upsetting BUT, we should not be too quick to judge such interactions as negative nasty unnecessary. These moments in life, so uncomfortable unexpected unpleasant unsolicited, offer transformational lessons and facilitate healing like nothing else.

Like, we don’t even consciously realise we have a problem, and all of a sudden, we let loose on our poor unsuspecting loved one, with an epic emotional diatribe… Spraying bullets of blame, hurling hand grenades of hatred, unleashing an arsenal of abuse, thrusting bayonets of umbrage, deploying an infantry of infantile angst, launching rockets of resentment… ok, enough with my self-indulgent wartime/weaponry references. Talk about Leo!

The 180° aspect known as the opposition, inherent in each monthly Full Moon, is a meaningful dynamic for most of 2017, as buoyant Jupiter and liberator Uranus oppose each other for months. The tension of the opposites implies balance, from each end of a spectrum, polarities push and pull, enabling growth and evolution. In her 1978 book Relating, inspiring astrologer Liz Greene writes:

“…the psyche always works towards a balance. One grows towards one’s opposite. This is at the same time one of the greatest struggles, one of the greatest joys and one of the most meaningful aspects of living experience” (p. 61).

The point is not to scapegoat our spouse (or other Other), or project our emotional wreckage upon the nearest (and dearest) target, but to recognise that if and when such inter-relationship intensity does occur, we can (maybe??) become conscious amid the mayhem and

from this point of humility vulnerability realness

we find our way out

together

hand-in-hand

stronger than before

and wiser too

because we find truth in the chaos, but we aren’t tethered to it ~ eternally seeking energy in perpetual histrionics.

Instead we see that yes, each has their perspective, and yes it is valid, and yes we have been hurt, but yes we too have hurt others, and yes we seek forgiveness and yes we can forgive. And release the past.

Where we take opportunities to see things from the other perspective, to see life in ways foreign to us, our consciousness expands and we grow. This naturally occurring shift is only possible through awareness of conflicting points of view. So, while it might be the vibe du jour to be all  (#hashtag) “love and light”, it is surrender to first-hand experience of and immersion in the opposite of this state = fear and darkness ~ that fosters evolution and a real life capacity for giving genuine love and light.

High-road Leo is love and light.

Like a big cosmic cuddle.

I hope you feel that vibe this weekend.

Cancer Full Moon

This evening, Thursday the 12th of January 2017, we greet our first Full Moon for the year, and a powerful one it is ~  we find the cardinal signs (Cancer Capricorn Aries Libra) in hard aspect to one another, creating a cardinal Grand Cross, and our awareness is brought to the various opposing forces ~ conflicting interests that exist in life for each of us.

There are times when we feel helpless overwhelmed in the face of all that life demands of us… how can we balance the inner and outer life? How do we find harmony between my desires and your needs? Home versus career ~ me versus we…

Is it even possible to juggle all the expectations we have? I don’t know.

Lola Jean, my little Crab, at Moses Rock ~ circa 2014

The attainment of a state of homeostasis is a constantly shifting exercise in adaptation, perfected in one moment only to be dashed in the next.

Analogous with this human conundrum is our very being… from the outside, a body appears relatively static stable solid, but the truth is that we are made up of countless perpetually moving particles that work tirelessly in maintaining our illusory solidity and a physical state conducive to survival. Each cell is in a constant state of flux, allowing for the inflow of information + nourishment and the evacuation of that which is no longer supportive of health. Each cell is responsible for its own sustainment, its contribution to the body small but significant

Just like us.

Cancer represents our feminine (not female) feeling nature, granting access to our feelings and emotions. With maturity we find the value and benefits that come with honouring our inner experiences and needs in wholesome and responsible ways, (providing the necessary self-care) we become less susceptible to low-road crabbiness.

Cancer’s defences can be hair-triggered, undermining intimacy trust and connection. Moodiness, an oft-employed and especially insidious method of defence can be damaging as we allow our moods to define and limit us, and manipulate and control others. To be overcome~possessed by emotion is to be at the mercy of the feminine (NOT female) shadow. If we are wise, we will recognise the signs and act to rectify the imbalance signalled by such intensity ~ by honouring the needs that cry out now for attention. We must be honest with ourselves, and dig deep to find the source of frustration, without blaming others, and then act in support of our return to equilibrium.

Comfort sought within soothes the suffering, but so often we seek solace in the outer world and in others ~ to no avail. High-road Cancer leads us home, within to the portal that avails us to our provenance. Where we make space in our life for such regular homecoming we will be rewarded ~ with a sense of replenishment

Tonight’s Full Moon illuminates the pressures stress anxiety suffering that can result from this demanding modern life. Cancer knows the value and wisdom in periodic retreat inward ~ from which we are able to refill our cups and so give more genuinely generously graciously, to others, to the outer world.

Gemini Full Moon

Wednesday the 14th of December (8.07am AWST) delivers the final Full Moon of 2016 at 22° Gemini~Sagittarius. Life is rich with meaning with a healthy Sagittarius expression, and healthy Gemini supports this with highly developed skills of perception and data collection.

Gemini represents the dual nature of things ~ black & white dark & light bad & good ~ upon closer inspection, as we learn grow evolve, we find that the lines separating us n them blur. We start to discover that things are not always clearly black and white, but more often grey. But it is helpful at times to discriminate between the polarities and it would be foolish and naive to insist that there is no such thing as right and wrong, right? Although if we consider it for long enough… 😉

Gemini says “I think”

The human mind is active by nature, always seeking something to do, paradoxically easily distracted with a tendency to become fixated upon thought patterns that are not necessarily healthy. This is why Buddhists encourage the use of techniques to cultivate mindfulness. When left to its own devices the mind will wander, aimlessly and seemingly harmlessly, free associating its way through days weeks years, allowing for the reinforcement of unhelpful neurocircuits and thus karma

Learning to harness the power of the mind is so beneficial because

with our thoughts we make the world

Life is largely experienced between our ears ~ a matter of perception above all else. Becoming aware of the subject of our incessant rumination concentration deliberation speculation cogitation contemplation meditation is worthwhile. The energy focussed hereupon will manifest, though not necessarily in the ways we expect or desire.

Energy flows where attention goes

Chiron’s influence upon this lunation is meaningful too ~ consider how we allow our tales of woe and wounding to inhibit our evolvement. The stories we repeat ad nauseam aloud or on a silent loop as we go about our business… how we’ve been wronged and by whom… the things we wish we’d said/would say if we had the chance/courage… imaginary encounters confrontations meet cutes… it goes on

and on.

So yes, we’re wounded, one and all. Learning to accept ourselves in all of our imperfection liberates us from the tyrannical illusion of faultlessness. Truly it is our flaws that keep us real, and grounded, and connected to one another, and grateful. In humility we are always learning, finding compassion and forgiveness as we recognise our own hidden shadows in the perceived shortcomings of others.

As Mercury slows down in preparation for a retrograde trip all the way back to late Sagi, we can allow the brightness of this Mercury-ruled Full Moon to shed light on those well worn cerebral pathways and begin to discern how these help and hinder our forward motion. Are we giving our power away by lingering too long on old thought forms? Are we living our truth and aligned with our vision? On track to a future that excites and energises us?

With practice we will undoubtedly improve, so we do well to examine our thought practices ~ habits tendencies patterns routines ~ since our best indicator of our future is our present… does it feel like a gift?

“Wise enough to carry the scars without any blame there’s no one to blame its easy to forget what you’ve learned waiting for the thrill to return feeling your desire burn and drawn to the flame… I don’t pretend to know what you want but i offer love”

Taurus Uber~Moon

Ferdinand the bull
Ferdinand the bull

Tonight’s (9.53 AWST Monday 14th November 2016) Taurus SuperMoon is the mother of all Full Moons! Not since 1948 has she come so near in her Fullness, and we won’t be so close again until 2034! A visual spectacle to be sure, but what of the energy…?

This Full Moon offers us the opportunity to glimpse the ways in which we enable our own forward motion, or not. How do the resources we cultivate allow our going forward as co-creators of our lives? Or not? How do we allocate our resources? Time, money, energy, effort… how do we prioritise our chosen pursuits? And what motivates us in these choices? Honestly.

So much of life is spent in mundane reality. There are bills to pay, mouths to feed, dishes to do… an unending loop of mortal coil. To aid in our functioning we forge efficient routines, habits, grooves, ruts. We can live within the safety of routine for a long time, habitually replaying our moments and our thoughts. Forever if we forget to wake up. Life can become a relentless working week, or similar.

Often, we must work to the rhythms of others (children, employer, partners, friends), perhaps neglecting our own. As we lose contact with our own needs we become increasingly disconnected from our innate fixed earthy feminine (not female) Taurean wisdom

Taurus rules our inner security ~ high road Taurus takes us from possessive materialism that attempts to buy our sense of contentment to the land of peaceful self-sufficiency via connection to our own physical bodies ~ being fully in our bodies and nourishing our physical needs with premium sustenance, hydration, movement, rest, repose

Through consciously engaging with what our bodies need in any given moment and honouring those needs in deed we supply our material form with the energy it requires to carry us through our mundane days, working towards our hopes and dreams, living with presence and an attentiveness to our inner lives where we find

life is rich with meaning that transforms our reality

Too, Taurus helps us to acquire the resources (skills) we need to patiently slowly steadily bring our dreams into manifestation. Greek God Hephaestus has been linked to Taurus; Melanie Reinhart writes,

“Like Chiron, Hephaestus was wounded… [he] represents a creative energy which does not turn in upon itself and destroy its own potential in response to the pain of having been rejected… Hephaestus enables others to express their own individuality and their selfhood, or their inner divinity, and this gift is part of his own individuality. He is dedicated to his craft despite being wounded. He refuses to be crushed by rejection and humiliation, but instead honours and expresses his own creativity… [he] represents the potential, through self-respect and perseverance, to turn one’s area of woundedness into a place from which fine creativity can issue.”

The illumination offered at this Full Moon asks us to consider our Scorpionic darkness yes, but as well, to find our inner warrior Pallas Athene ~ goddess of wisdom ~ who will empower embolden inspire us in our journeys onward toward individuation, toward finding our innate source of inner security, toward wholeness. There may be battles, within and without, as we remain true to our selves. This path of authenticity is not easy, but the only path that promises true fulfilment beyond the mere material ~ we find our serenity in the quiet knowledge of having lived in alignment with our own values. Peace be with youse 🙂
