Post-Pisces Full Moon 2017

Many things that have been blurring my vision of late became clear the past few weeks and days… like how easy it is to get in our own way, to let our own concepts about how things should be, our hopes about how things will be, our identification with who we think we are and what we want and need, to become the self-imposed limitations that bind us to suffering.

The Buddhists teach it so well, the art of non-attachment ~ to accept things as they are, to wait and see, to find a way to shift our perspective to one of equanimity, wherein we see the value of what is, rather than dwelling upon all the things we don’t have.

Life is so busy and often monotonous in its relentless repetition of routine requirements, the demands of daily life (food, sleep, order, function) can feel stifling, showing no mercy.

So much of the time I find myself caught up in tasks, one to the next, managing small children, wrangling them in and out of the car, diplomatically adjudicating endless disputes, manipulating ways to make things happen with minimum fuss, while struggling to get all The Things done each day.

This experience has drained me lately, it seemed that my faith had abandoned me, I felt forsaken by the Universe for weeks. Now there are glimmers of light and I recognise that my own ego’s ideas about What I Need are meaningless. In the interests of sanity+satisfaction my expectations must be released rather than tenaciously clung to as a part of my very being.

Just because I don’t understand, or can’t see what is really happening, it doesn’t mean that nothing is happening, or that it is wrong, or that I’ve made a mistake, or that I’m being punished…

Like Pythagoras’ own theorem:

“the square of the hypotenuse (the side opposite the right angle) is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides”

which is a very prosaic way of saying that it is not what we see but what we do not see that is the interesting bit.

The mystery of life swirls around us. Many (politicians, powers that be, consensus majority et al) choose to perceive things in a way that supports their own (old-paradigm) materialistic views. Their passé perspective that life is a series of transactions measured with ones and zeros, with value estimated in dollars and cents…? I think, despite their self-assured demeanours and loud mouths, they are more lost than any one of us who is able to humbly bow in reverence, recognising the futility in attempts to control, admitting we have no idea what is happening. Those who see the strength and wisdom in surrender, AKA The Meek, may indeed inherit the earth.

For now, the gods must laugh at our antics, lest they cry at what we seem hell-bent upon bringing to bear… despite, nay because of the gifts we’ve had bestowed upon us ~ consciousness & free will

this very breath at this very moment

Our apparent collective ineptitude provides all the fuel for humility we could ever need. The search for the Holy Grail, the meaning of life, eludes us despite all technological advances, CCTV at every junction, 24 news channels…

Religion disappoints us, preaching rubbish rules and regs to which we must subscribe in order that we get a chance to sit atop a sun-drenched cloud by Jesus’ side someday, or brainwashing the beautifully supple young minds with poisonous seeds of hatred and violence. They want us infidels punished, in the hopes they might get to cavort with virgins for eternity on The Other Side.

Truly, we must concede the whole mess is a mystery

Franciscan Friar Richard Rohr writes “mystery isn’t something you cannot understand – it is something that you can understand endlessly!”

We never get it completely. There is an ever deepening spiral of evolution taking place within us (and so without). The more we participate with this, surrendering as required and engaging when called to do so, the more inspired enthralled and awed we become… we recognise that life is magic and we are fools to fall into any other mindset.

We have a part to play in the unfoldment of this grand cosmic plan. We must only have the courage to abide.

The Leo New Moon Eclipse

Eclipses, especially total solar eclipses such as this one on Tuesday 22nd of August (2.30am AWST), have long been feared by us earthlings and understandably; it is not difficult to imagine the communal state of freak-out experienced by our ancestors observing the apparent unexplained disappearance of the Sun as darkness took hold in the middle of the day, the natural world around them descending into chaos. Little wonder that they were viewed ominously.

Something that remains within us, archetypal and ancient, senses the dread still, nervously anticipating disruptive personal and global events. I do not pretend to possess the skills to predict any potential cataclysm but I recognise how challenging eclipse dynamics can be, if only for the fundamental energetic displacement that occurs; that is, the interrupted flow of the Sun’s energy caused by the Moon.

This corresponds with a similar interruption in our own psyches. We temporarily lose touch with our Solar identities, our primitive emotional natures disconnecting from our consciousness. Obsolescent emotions emerge without warning and we can find ourselves susceptible to childish (over)reaction and an urge to vent. Access to this unclaimed baggage of old is not always possible. These next few days we can aim to see more clearly things that are usually obscured, and so gain clarity around their deeper meaning.

It is important to recognise that sometimes conflict is necessary in order that we become aware of deeper issues. We must be courageous and honest in our appraisal of conflicts that arise, not simply right-fighting or blaming, but accepting responsibility for the parts we play in the problems we encounter. And viewing such times of discord as opportunities for real transformation, rather than continued perpetuation of histrionics.

From the (altogether universal) egoic experience of being human, we live from the inside out, perceiving things from our own perspective, inadvertently forgetting about others’ needs and points of view. It is easy to imagine that others don’t care, or don’t understand, or that they are ignoring, dismissing or rejecting us. In reality, others are as distracted with their own struggles as we are with ours.

Leo needs to be seen and appreciated. This deep need exists within us all and is the cause for many misunderstandings. It also manifests as the kind of behaviour we discourage in children, as in, any attention is better than none. At worst, Leo will take what it can get, even if that means being merely looked at for all the wrong reasons.

As the Eclipse approaches we might ward off meltdowns by considering what we really want from those around us. Being mature enough to show up in our relationships and vulnerable enough to ask for what we need rather than expecting others to know, or passive-aggressively manipulating attention at any cost. As well, to contemplate what others might really be needing from us.

To truly see each other in all our beautifully fragile humanness.

Leo corresponds to the heart chakra. As we learn to open our own hearts to one another, connection emerges and love grows. The conditioning to which we have all been subjected has left us wounded. Many of us suffer to the extent that we keep our hearts closed by default, a protective instinct aimed at self-preservation. But truly the only thing that will heal the pain of these old wounds is love, and love is only able to flow heart to heart.

This Eclipse is an opportunity for us all to consciously open our hearts, rather than allowing old wounds and patterns to define us. As we make bold and courageous moves towards really loving each other we are charting new territory and setting our course for a future that transcends old limitations and shines brightly, beckoning us forward, urging us to keep the faith, stay the course, be the change…

Libra Full Moon 2017

Another Full Moon is upon us, and the astroscape is intense! King of excess Jupiter (even in reverse-mode!) is keeping the spark alive between Change Gods Pluto and Uranus. Thankfully, retrograde Mercury, Saturn and Venus offer room for reflection ~ let’s hope the (ostensible) powers-that-be will allow themselves this luxury! Amidst these turbulent times, we too find solace in the inner space afforded by various retrogrades and waning cycles…

The Libra Full Moon, exact on Tuesday afternoon (2.08pm AWST) illuminates insights revealed by (Full Moon ruler) Venus’ magical retrograde. We are uncovering true worth, in ourselves, in others, in life and all she provides.

Venus’ new guise as the morning star represents awakening ~ as the truth dawns on us in all its beauty ~ we are reminded that our own self-worth is not dependent upon the approval of others…

I don’t need everybody to like me! I must remain true to my inner muse and honour my own truth by walking my talk, no matter what they say. Let me not be distracted by tall poppy ponderings…

“will they think I’m crazy?”

“who do I think I am?!”

On that note, forgive me a digression… the dream that came to me the night after my first astrology workshop (JupiterReturn-inspired conscious act of individuation) ~ I sit in a dark room beside an old lady who describes herself as the daughter of Carl Jung. She shows me her jewels ~ a pile of rainbow gems trinkets treasures riches ~ and then she departs, promising to return, leaving me poring over the valuables…

We are being asked now to trust in the Piscean mystery of life ~ to accept it as it is and know that, as we act in alignment with truth, we will be guided

and the jewels (our meaningful reward) will be entrusted to us in turn

The cosmos is now calling us to show up more visibly in our own lives. The light of this Moon helps us to see where we sell ourselves short + dumb ourselves down and empowers us to liberate ourselves! Authenticity is key to our sense of self-worth and to our ability to live wholeheartedly. Mars supports us in acting courageously and intentionally.

As Venus turns direct later this week we are also blessed with opportunities to let go of our concepts ideals attachments illusions delusions around love

For as long as we remain stuck in a view of what love should be we cannot know love. But the moment we surrender to the moment, in all its glorious imperfection, and accept our chosen mate in all his/her humanness, we find their true worth

and love appears.

Not only that, but a chance exists now to release ourselves from the self-imposed limitations of expectation

The true worth of things (situations events people) cannot emerge until we relinquish the clouded perspective of what we want them to be, which requires that they be different to how they actually are in reality…

Venus’ current fusion with Chiron helps us to find the value in our vulnerabilities. These “cracks where the light gets in” are indeed our gateway to humility and compassion, and so to genuine connection and intimacy.

Here we find Libra ~ relating to others & relating to life ~ we evolve through the contributions made by others and through our capacity to connect with these contributions meaningfully.

Cancer Full Moon

This evening, Thursday the 12th of January 2017, we greet our first Full Moon for the year, and a powerful one it is ~  we find the cardinal signs (Cancer Capricorn Aries Libra) in hard aspect to one another, creating a cardinal Grand Cross, and our awareness is brought to the various opposing forces ~ conflicting interests that exist in life for each of us.

There are times when we feel helpless overwhelmed in the face of all that life demands of us… how can we balance the inner and outer life? How do we find harmony between my desires and your needs? Home versus career ~ me versus we…

Is it even possible to juggle all the expectations we have? I don’t know.

Lola Jean, my little Crab, at Moses Rock ~ circa 2014

The attainment of a state of homeostasis is a constantly shifting exercise in adaptation, perfected in one moment only to be dashed in the next.

Analogous with this human conundrum is our very being… from the outside, a body appears relatively static stable solid, but the truth is that we are made up of countless perpetually moving particles that work tirelessly in maintaining our illusory solidity and a physical state conducive to survival. Each cell is in a constant state of flux, allowing for the inflow of information + nourishment and the evacuation of that which is no longer supportive of health. Each cell is responsible for its own sustainment, its contribution to the body small but significant

Just like us.

Cancer represents our feminine (not female) feeling nature, granting access to our feelings and emotions. With maturity we find the value and benefits that come with honouring our inner experiences and needs in wholesome and responsible ways, (providing the necessary self-care) we become less susceptible to low-road crabbiness.

Cancer’s defences can be hair-triggered, undermining intimacy trust and connection. Moodiness, an oft-employed and especially insidious method of defence can be damaging as we allow our moods to define and limit us, and manipulate and control others. To be overcome~possessed by emotion is to be at the mercy of the feminine (NOT female) shadow. If we are wise, we will recognise the signs and act to rectify the imbalance signalled by such intensity ~ by honouring the needs that cry out now for attention. We must be honest with ourselves, and dig deep to find the source of frustration, without blaming others, and then act in support of our return to equilibrium.

Comfort sought within soothes the suffering, but so often we seek solace in the outer world and in others ~ to no avail. High-road Cancer leads us home, within to the portal that avails us to our provenance. Where we make space in our life for such regular homecoming we will be rewarded ~ with a sense of replenishment

Tonight’s Full Moon illuminates the pressures stress anxiety suffering that can result from this demanding modern life. Cancer knows the value and wisdom in periodic retreat inward ~ from which we are able to refill our cups and so give more genuinely generously graciously, to others, to the outer world.

Aries Full Moon

My Libra Sun ~ Aries Moon baby girl blazing a trail
My Libra Sun ~ Aries Moon baby girl blazing a trail

This weekend’s Aries Full Moon is edgy, with potential for genius insights, unsettling awakenings and anything in between. The nearby presence of Uranus and Eris suggest that we ought to expect the unexpected and, in preparation for the dark overtones, cultivate impulse control.

Uranus’ mutinous urge to individuate is not always fit for public consumption. And Eris’ poor social skills of mythic proportions see her eternally exiled. Other planetary heavy hitters throwing their weight around this weekend include power trippers Mars and Pluto scaling the peaks of (Mt.) Capricorn; Black Moon Lilith treading the dark waters of Scorpio, Saturn relentlessly driving home his Sagittarian point du jour in attempts to keep us North (Node) bound…

But where is the light of this lovely Moon?

We look to (not directly at) the source of life ~ the Sun ~ to find our middle road that leads us to Libra high country! Pursued by Mercury and Jupiter, recall that clear communication, optimism and courtesy take us a long way this weekend… we catch more flies with honey. Although I don’t know why we want to catch flies?

stay calm

Libra New Moon

The Libra New Moon occurs on Saturday 1st of October 2016 (8.11am AWST). The Sun and Moon are at 8° Libra and nearby at 4° we find benevolent Jupiter. Such an auspicious New Moon this is! And it has depth too.

Venus is the ruler of the lunation, and she is conjunct Lilith in Scorpio. Another reminder of our inner feminine ~ soft receptive yin processes coupled with the self-assuredness of inner knowing. There is an awakening of this powerful force occurring and this New Moon presses for the increased awareness of the neglected (and thus often angry) unconscious feminine. As we integrate feminine power, we come to know her mercy.

Scorpio represents the dark in all its complexity. Nothing is as it appears. Light allows us clarity of vision, but sometimes robs us of the subtlety of feeling. In the dark it is the only way forward, to feel our way.

The Sun~Moon~Jupiter square Mars and Pluto in Capricorn. There is strength and power here. It is important for us to know what we truly want as these two planets conjoin later this month, for such misdirected energy has the power to harm. Mars’ exaltation in Capricorn adds fervour to our mission: we now begin to implement our long-considered plans and Mars spurs us on supportively.

Neptune and the Lunar South Node remain in conjunction in Pisces ~ our efforts at releasing that which no longer serves us are supported now. The Dark Moon in Virgo helps us to discern what these things might be… habits, relationships, attachments, the past, limiting “stories of me”

2011_0103end20100378

Libra seeks balance. Implicit in balance is a midpoint, a midline, a middle road. And as we journey towards establishing our own balance~ homeostasis ~ equilibrium we must first experience imbalance. We experiment and evaluate, investigate and appraise in an ongoing (potentially exhausting) human trial and error display that takes us to extreme and polar ends of the spectrum of life.

During an Equinox meditation with Sol W. Jonassen I was struck by the concept of the midline (third eye~heart~solar plexus). Throughout this mediation she reminded us to return to our midline. I found this simple act of going within and knowing my own centre point to be very supportive.

I have been using it since then in my daily life, trying to remember to come back to my midline during the day. When things become frustrating or boring or crazy or challenging in any way it becomes particularly helpful. I have used other methods to ground myself in this way in the past (usually breathing deeply) but these often require time and space that is not always realistic (what with The Cherubs underfoot). This little idea has been so beneficial to me…

here’s what I do: I shut my eyes and put my attention on my inner third eye or my heart chakra, or maybe both if I have time, and something happens… there is space… inner space… and at the same time there is comfort… I feel better.

A tiny reminder of the middle way…

not cowardly or reckless but courageous

not loose or rigid but flowing

not resistant or resigned but accepting

not aloof or possessive but engaged

not narcissistic or martyred but authentic

not right or wrong but learning

not attachment or aversion but love

For so long as we are genuinely doing our work we are on the right track, so let us journey on friends ♥

Jupiter departing Virgo ~ to arrive Libra

Jupiter’s passage through the sign of Virgo comes to an end tonight as the jovial King of the Gods moves into Libra until the 10th of October 2017. This past 13 months has offered many meaningful lessons from the Virgo archetype including discernment + discrimination, service + contribution, humility + perfectionism, crisis + choice, health + healing, method + practice, attention to detail + conscientiousness, analysis + appraisal of self.

The transitional archetype of Virgo allows us to dismantle and examine our fundamental creative urge, tempering our Leonine self-expressive impulse with an attitude of giving ~ noblesse oblige.  Armed now with such understandings we embark upon an expansive new phase of engagement with others. The coming year will bring bountiful Libran harvest to the extent that we can yield to Jupiter’s optimistic influence and buoyant enthusiasm.

Jupiter warrants a warning: overconfidence can be awkward, regrettable, even dangerous. Many errors in judgement occur under the benevolent guidance of Jupiter. However, it is also the boldness of Jupiter that motivates us to pursue and achieve dreams others might dismiss as impossible ~ ridiculous ~ foolhardy ~ those of us too afraid to follow Jupiter’s road less travelled are then required to reflect upon a life half lived, and that torturous too-late question

what if…?

Libra is the sign of balance ~ the act of harmonising, a dynamic and ongoing process of adjustment. This phase invites us to expand our balancing abilities, learning about our dual natures as we relate to others, seeking commonality with our fellows rather than concentrating our energy upon the ways in which we differ. We engage open-mindedly with alternate perspectives that broaden our own views, while remaining true to our own crystallising personal beliefs, allowing for the adaptation that evolves a species.

We don’t necessarily have to agree, or limit our connection-cultivation to those like-minded few. We seek instead to be open, nurturing our loving hearts, and building bridges of compassion and empathy. By its nature, to truly connect with others is to expand the self, and so Jupiter in Libra nourishes this growth via cooperation.

Libra’s low-road is recognisable by excessive people-pleasing tendencies, and a compulsive yearning for approval. To be constantly distracted by concern for what others are thinking is to be out of alignment with one’s own rhythms and inner balance. We lose sight of our own authentic path. This year will be a time of enriching our own inner equilibrium too ~ we learn what we require to maintain personal homeostasis.

The true Libran aim is justice ~ fairness and equality, and compromise can be key to this outcome, but to sell oneself short as a peacekeeping measure is a delusion (“peace at any price is no peace at all” Eve Curie). Too, Libra can err and demur endlessly in ambivalence that renders it inert and impotent. Jupiter’s benevolent attention can easily be dissipated by over-indulgence in effortless good times.

Jupiter’s trip through Libra will see it aspect slow moving change gods Uranus+Pluto. Jupiter effectively enhances all he comes into contact with (think King Midas’ golden touch) and so we can anticipate further intensification of these (personal & global) revolutionary times. Manifestation of the energies always depends upon our consciousness ~ the more aware we become of our karma the more empowered we are.

Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn have been in a 90° square since 2012. This Uranus~Pluto cycle began during the swinging sixties (exact ’65-’66) at the Virgo conjunction, heralding the beginning of the so-called New Age. Since then (as the conjunction separated and then the square formed) the Earthly tumult can be attributed to the dynamism between these two intense archetypal forces, and the ways in which we have channelled them.

We need only switch on the news to find sufficient illustration of the prevalent energies and manifest themes ~ war, poverty, violence, oppression, struggle abounds ~ and the potential for Jupiter to  amplify this negativity exists of course. But to recognise also that this apparently low-road global manifestation of the archetypal vibes is a reflection of the current collective consciousness. Jupiter adds faith and optimism to this mix, and its movement through Libra inspires diplomatic conflict resolution. Jupiter will first square Pluto in late November and then again in March and August 2017; the opposition to Uranus will occur in late December, then again in March and September 2017.

So, we’ve clearly got some work to do! And Jupiter through Libra is perfect for the job! As we become more conscious in our own individual lives we contribute to the collective awakening, and Jupiter’s time in Libra enhances this with the potential for real connections being formed between increasingly conscious people. As we come to recognise the limitations inherent in solitude, and embrace the realities of modern life (making good use of  the world wide web and social media, for example) we can welcome the opportunities to embrace interdependence.

There are over seven billion of us on this planet. We are intrinsically social creatures ~ wired for connection. While we may be able to function satisfactorily solo, Jupiter in Libra urges us to make efforts to build “real-ationships” with others ~

Choose love

The atrocity in Brussels yesterday occurred under interesting planetary stimulus. All energy requires a channel through which to flow; when we allow energy to become destructive instead of creative bad things happen. As human beings we are blessed with the freedom to choose, and as unique contributors to the whole we have an opportunity in each moment to take the high road, thus evolving the collective consciousness. Whether it be in thought or action, we are creating reality, so let’s aim high and choose love.

As the Libra Full Moon looms, the energy continues to build. Of particular note is the square between Jupiter in Virgo and Saturn in Sagittarius. These two players are facing off in a battle of belief systems. Where this energy remains conscious, we are supported in our own personal and collective rethink on philosophies to live by. We can access Virgoan critique, and Saturn’s wise pragmatism = change is possible. But when we allow the arrogance of low-road Jupiter and the fundamentalism of low-road Sagittarius to hijack these higher intentions, judgemental attitudes prevail. Add to this the crisis inherent in the Virgo archetype and the duty-bound dogma of low-road Saturn and there is potential for things to get messy.

Especially when Mars is in on it. High-road Mars in Sagittarius is the ultimate spiritual warrior, exercising restraint while fighting the good fight; advocating for freedom and our collective highest good. But when the low-road God of War saddles up his high horse there are no holds barred. The righteous indignation is palpable, polarising and on some level, justified.

Herein lies the danger: we become engaged with this (or any of the many other) hideous event and we get mad. We feel angry that this can happen. We confabulate and incite one another in work lunch-room discussions. With the headlines snaking across television screens worldwide, the fear-fuelled retelling of the tragedy is relentless. Personal accounts of victims’ pain and suffering cause us to become emotionally embroiled and our anxiety inevitably builds. With thoughts of a terror attack on home soil we feel impelled to blame and point our finger, and defend ourselves with vitriolic racism and more bombs. Us versus them.

Banksy

Adding to the cosmic energy mix at play, despite their separating status, revolutionary Uranus and transformational Pluto continue to square each other. This long-haul aspect is one that effects serious change: its slow speed coupled with the planetary combination (Uranus = awakening via trauma and Pluto = profound paradoxical truth) have allowed it to reshape our individual and collective consciousness in recent years. It has been in effect since 2012 and while most astrologers seem to have moved onto more contemporary planetary aspects, perhaps we turned our backs too soon on this doozy of a transit!

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun in Aries at the time of the attacks is a cameo profile of a man in the outline of his country thus “the man is perceived by others not as a unique individual but in terms of his collective identity and the cultural traditions that he represents” (Roche, 1998, p.33). This description takes on a sinister tone in the wake of these recent acts against humanity.

The keyword for this Sabian Symbol is exploitation. Diana E. Roche describes the negative implications: “Infamy as the result of portraying and perpetuating the worst stereotypes of a culture” (1998, p34). We can see how suicide bombers have been exploited by groups hell bent on an agenda that breeds fear, hatred and segregation. These people have been misled by false promises of celebrated martyrdom and eternal glory, and appallingly they have been convinced that god wants them to harm their fellows. The response of “our side” is no different, though we have better marketing.

War is not the answer. Violence begets violence. We must pray for victims on both sides of this gaping global wound, for the division is merely an illusion. We are all one, and these despicable deeds are not acts against enemies, but self harm. Our collective consciousness, for which we are all personally responsible, is surely at a tipping point? We must choose love, before it is too late.

Now i am going back to my meditation♥

Libra Full Moon

The Libra Full Moon occurs at 8.02pm (AWST) on Wednesday the 23rd of March and brings our awareness to relations with those near and dear to us, as well as those not-so-much. Libra is the sign of harmony and diplomacy; neither of which exist without an other. Libra represents the archetypal other, and the development of our personal objectivity as we create, build and maintain relationships.

Libra teaches us empathy, as we come into contact with other human beings and hear their stories we develop an ability to see things from their perspective. As this objectivity evolves we become attuned to the reality that we are all connected, and we can understand people in more abstract situations: that is, we are able to imagine how it might feel to face a difficult life in a war torn country, or to struggle with four hungry children in the supermarket! We learn compassion.

If a relationship is to grow, we must draw on our social skills. For example, courtesy is the oft-neglected old school virtue that means we adapt to the needs of others, making adjustments to our language, behaviour and affect. Courtesy allows the other to become comfortable in our presence, and so rapport builds. From here we inspire trust and perhaps even intimacy, in our deepest relationships. This is Libran high country, and we navigate it well when we nurture our ability to relate to others in an authentic and warm manner.

We also receive feedback in our relationships, and so learn more about who we are as individuals. We discern the similarities and differences that exist between ourselves and others. So much of what we see in others is a reflection of that which lives inside us. There is much in each human psyche that remains unconscious, and allowing others to be the mirror we need can be enlightening.

This (Libra~Aries axis) Full Moon provides an important opportunity for these kinds of interactions to occur. As we encounter people in all their humanness we might find it easy and sometimes satisfying to judge, blame and project. But where we approach each moment as a chance to learn something, life is generous. We become increasingly aware of our human frailties and flaws, and so more forgiving of others for theirs.

When the Moon is full it is always exactly opposite the Sun, and hence illuminated. The Sun has now moved into Aries, vying for our increased attention to self. Riding shotgun with the Sun now is Mercury: the two are in easy aspect to feisty Mars in straight-shootin’ Sagittarius, so the urge to communicate one’s own needs is strong. As Mars squares Venus, there is potential for sparks to fly, especially in our close relationships! If we can, it helps to listen more than we speak.

Venus is the ruler of this lunation, and currently coupled with Neptune in Pisces. These two planets vibe well together: a shared understanding of the innate human need for connection ~ to become larger than we are alone. We are again reminded of this spiritual side of life. Where we invite an element of reverence into our lives, gratitude grows and leads to more fulfilment ~ a richer human experience.

Jovial Jupiter in Virgo is exactly square to serious Saturn in Sagittarius, and as they agitate one another, they can also act to temper: optimism versus realism ~ buoyancy versus groundedness ~ faith versus effort ~ ideally we channel the best of each planet’s gifts, and do not allow ourselves to be swept up in Jupiter’s over-confidence or foolhardiness, or unnecessarily limited by Saturn’s gloomy pessimism.

The astro-scape presents us now with potential conflicts, misunderstandings, and communication breakdowns, and so with opportunities aplenty to become aware of our patterns and karma, and to (channel our inner Lennon~McCartney) make a conscious choice to work it out, or let it be.
